Liqueur and liquorice

Liqueurs have a high alcohol content and are usually served in small liqueur glasses. Liqueur falls under our strong drink category and has a minimum alcohol percentage of 15% and a sugar content of at least 100 grams per litre. Cream liqueur contains at least 250 grams of sugar per litre. Apart from liqueurs, there is also liquorette. This is comparable to liquor, but the alcohol percentage in liquorette is less than 15%. Likorette can therefore be sold in the supermarket, while you can only buy liquor in the liquor store.
