What are copper cups?

Copper cups have been around for many years. In fact, the cups used to be used for drinking water. The idea with a cup made of copper is that the cup is 100% copper and not mixed. Then you put water in the cup overnight, put a lid on it. Then you leave the cup overnight and then drink the water in the morning. The water is said to contain anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties for the body due to the copper. It also contains a number of other benefits.

So a real copper cup has copper inside as well and must be made of pure copper.

Nowadays, copper cups for the catering industry are simply made of a mixture. This is because toxic substances are released due to the pH values of the drinks served in the cups. We offer all-copper and blended cups that you can just use for catering.

What do you use copper cups for?

So, as described earlier, you can use the cups or mugs for water to bring out the healthy effects of the precious metal. However, you will also often see them using mixed copper cups for cocktails. A very trendy and well-known cocktail at the moment is the Moscow Mule.

The Moscow Mule

It is not entirely certain who invented the drink however, stories circulate that the drink was invented in 1941 by a bartender in Los Angeles. In the 1930s, Smirnoff's rights were bought over by an American drinks company that was struggling with a lot of Ginger Beer. Vodka was not yet very popular in America and so the American was struggling with a cellar full of vodka and Ginger Beer. The American tested a little here and there with the two ingredients, later adding lime juice and that's how the Moscow Mule was eventually brought into the world. It is actually a simple cocktail, but the drink is deliciously refreshing and a little sweet. Nowadays, the cocktail is immensely popular and the copper cup provides a refreshing feeling when you take a sip of your Moscow Mule.

Of course, you can also serve other cocktails in the special copper cups, put your own twist on the Moscow Mule, for example. Or take a look at the range of our cocktail glasses. Do you have a question about our products? Then feel free to contact us!
